The Lone Star Saloon is a Bar/Grill and Dinner Theater located in Richmond Texas. Richmond is one of the oldest cities in Texas. In 1822, a group of Austin's colonists went up the Brazos River, landing near present day Richmond TX. For protection they quickly built a Fort and named it Fort Bend, as it was at the bend on the Brazos. Soon the town started growing and needed a name. The colonist name the town after Richmond, England, and was among the first 19 cities incorporated by the short-lived Republic of Texas, in 1837. Early towns folk in around the city include many famous figures in Texas lore such as Jane Long, Deaf Smith (who was laid to rest in Richmond), and Mirabeau Lamar. On August 16, 1889, the town was the site of the Battle of Richmond, an armed fight culminating the Jaybird-Woodpecker War, a violent feud over post-Reconstruction political control of Fort Bend County. The Mayor since 1949 has been Hilmar Moore. Hilmar has been the Mayor for 49 years….Unofficially the longest-serving mayor in the United States.

That brings us to the building that houses the LONE STAR SALOON. Built in 1888 the building has been a Richmond Texas fixture for 120years. In November of 2008 the bar caught fire and burned to the ground. But thanks to JEREMY Shepard and Shepard Construction, the new Lone Star Saloon was resurrected in fall of 2009. The new building meets all the criteria to remain on the Historic societies list. Bill and Bev Lindquist, proprietors of the Lone Star Saloon vowed to make the new Lone Star Saloon bigger, better and incorporate food, dancing and live music with a dinner theater! The Lindquist have added several needed enticements to the new Lone Star Saloon. For the first time ever the Lone Star Saloon has DRAFT BEER, FOOD and a great stage for live music. The open air, tall ceilings and lots room to kick your heals up on the dance floor. They have 9-10 TVs situated around the facilities including a giant big screen for your favorite sports events. The Lone Star Saloon features a new upper mezzanine perfect for private parties or business lunches. The mezzanine is the perfect place for an intimate conversation or to take in an event with the dinner theater. Please be sure to stop by and take a look around were sure to impress!
